Related work

There is currently a world-wide concern for «mathphobia» and the increasing loss of mathematical consistency in higher-education, the ultimate resource base of science. Among many pointers to this topic, and further to [9], we select the following two, which share our concerns concerning FM-teaching:

• Working Group on Integrating Mathematical Reasoning into Computer Science Curricula (hosted by the Geneseo's CS Dept. at SUNY, USA)
• Support for Teaching and Learning Formal Methods (University of Texas, USA)

The following workshops have addressed formal methods education:

• Industrial Training and University Education in Formal Methods tutorial at FME'97, an earlier FME attempt to address the topic.
• Teaching Formal Methods: Practice and Experience -- a One Day Workshop at Oxford Brookes University (12 December 2003) organised by the Applied Formal Methods Group (Oxford Brookes University) in association with BCS-FACS.
